The original stone mill building, which had been seriously damaged by fire in the 1950s, was restored, renovated and expanded to serve as the Municipal Center for Chadds Ford Township, PA. The historic stone structure became the Township’s public meeting room, and a new addition was built to accommodate administrative offices. Turner’s Mill is also known as “Howard Pyle’s Studio” in recognition of the fact that the noted teacher and illustrator used the abandoned grist mill as summer school for his students during the 1890s. |
