Before

This restoration of the 70-foot tall tower atop the historic main hospital building included the restoration of exterior limestone masonry and the replacement of all the roofing systems. The design for replacement of wood components to match historic profiles and appearance was undertaken to incorporate new technologies and new steel reinforcing components. The historic clock was restored along with metal railings and decorative elements. The dome and weathervane were gilded to reflect the historic appearance. The historic Reading Hospital building was originally constructed in 1923.
