Before

A reproduction of the original tower spire was designed and constructed for this Wilmington, Delaware church, originally designed by Edwin Durang. The new 70-foot spire, which replaced a metal spire added in the mid-20th-century, features limestone detailing, lead-coated copper flashings, a new slate roof and a gilded cross to replicate the historic appearance of the original 1899 spire. The new design for the tower spire was based on information gleaned from historic photographs and other historic documentation.
