Within church records it was discovered that a cupola was originally intended, but never built, for the historic Sanctuary building designed by noted architect Thomas Ustick Walter. A new cupola was designed to complete Walter’s original design intent. The First Presbyterian Church complex in downtown West Chester includes the original c. 1832 church structure, along with later additions. A master plan and conceptual design were prepared to assist the church in considering options for expanding and improving their facilities to meet current and future needs.
