On Point Farm is set in the rolling hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania, amidst large parcels of conserved open space. The design of the principal residence is inspired by the vernacular fieldstone farmhouses that expanded incrementally over time in the region. A walled central courtyard provides a private and intimate transitional space between the house and the fields beyond. The interior is organized by a central linear axis that joins formal and informal spaces, and incorporates components of antique woodwork acquired by the architects for their clients. The new stone barn is nestled into the landscape and is home to twelve event horses.
